The Hunger Games. Forcing Kids to kill each other. Not cool. But both Bret and Kate agree there’s really not much to it. There has to be drama. Take for instance this scene where kids forced to kill each other in an all out Battle Royale still deal with being you know… kids. Also, want to make people squirm? Feature a scene where a girls goes “nuts” on a guy with a knife. Not for the weak stomached:

Cinema Smackdown Episodes 1-25

Silent House and The Woman in Black both feature a singular character being terrorized for most the movie. Which is better? We may not agree on this one, but one thing Bret and Kate can agree on is Bruce Campbell completely dominates in Evil Dead II, where for a good forty minute chunk he is alone on screen. Add in Sam Raimi’s visual restlessness and you’ve got yourself an unstoppable tour-de-force in Horror Cinema:
